     Rena Mae Spencer married James H. Joyner.¹ Rena was born in 1901.² She married Walter Franklin Tabb on 7 April 1918.³ Rena died in 1980.^4,1 She was buried in 1980 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, Washington County, Mississippi.¹

     James was born at Vance, Quitman County, Mississippi, on 10 June 1899.^1,2 He married Charlotte (Lottie) Cheairs on 9 April 1919.¹ James died on 1 October 1951 at Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at age 52.^1,2 He was buried after 1 October 1951 at Oakridge Cemetery, Clarksdale, Coahoma County, Mississippi.²

     Charlotte was born on 7 October 1897.^1,2 She married James Cullen Tabb on 9 April 1919.³ Charlotte died on 6 February 1982 at age 84.² She was buried after 6 February 1982 at Oakridge Cemetery, Clarksdale, Coahoma County, Mississippi.²

     Annie was born on 19 July 1906. She married Jewel Leonard Tabb circa 1930.¹ Annie died on 25 September 1968 at age 62. She was buried after 25 September 1968 at Lambert Cemetery, Lambert, Quitman County, Mississippi.

Dear Jeanette,

I would like to thank you for informing me about Max Tidmore's book "Kinsfolks and Ancestors", also in your Tabb research, I was wondering if you had found any tidbits about my grandfather REV. DANIEL TABB? I have just about given up finding the date of his death or burial location, some say he owned property in south Memphis, and is buried in the Memphis area. I never realized that I knew so little about my descendants until I caught the genealogy fever several years ago. When I was growing up I had no curiosity or desire for knowledge about my forefathers or family descent. I suppose I was like most youngsters, my forebear' were like past history, and also I have always had difficulty in figuring relationship, now that I am older, and interested, I wish I had listened more. As you probably know, my grandfather was an itinerate Methodist Preacher, traveling circuit in Northeast Mississippi by horse and carriage. I have heard some very good things about him and some not so good. Tradition has it, that he was a man of strong character and earnest convictions, who believed so earnestly in the cause of the South that he laid aside his pastoral duties, and entered the active service of the Confederacy. It is said while fighting at Shiloh, Tennessee that he was wounded by a minie ball that made a clean hole through his chest. It is a family legend that a silk handkerchief was pulled through that hole. It appears that my grandfather was in his fifties (ca 1874) when he married Eliza Porter, she is believed to have died early, my father Benjamin, was raised by his Uncle John Hughs Tabb in Chickasaw County, Miss. Early in 1970 I visited John Hughs Old Homestead (Tabbsville) located near Houston, the old house was being razed at that time, the Post Office, and the old saw mill had long been demolished. I was very fortunate, found some of my descendants still living in that area, was privileged to talk to Laudie Tabb Shell, who remembered my father in his youth, but her memory of my grandfather was very vague... Bless her, she was 92 years old. One of my best leads is a letter dated 22 Dec 1968, from James B. Davis, he writes; My father James A. Davis knew Rev. Daniel Tabb well and assured me that he knew Daniel made several trips to Texas, the last visit to Titus County re recalls was about 1893, and that he passed away in a hospital in Memphis about 1897-98, place of burial unknown.

Thanks again for letting me know about Max Tidmore's book, and would appreciate any bit of information you may have on Rev. Daniel Tabb.

     Clarence's occupation: Journalist.. Clarence was born at Mt. Pleasant, Titus County, Texas, on 27 April 1902.^1,2 He married Lillian Maudine Charles on 4 July 1935.¹ Clarence retired in 1967.³ Clarence died on 28 November 1980 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 78.^1,2 His body was interred on 30 November 1980 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.²

     Lillian's occupation: Homemaker.. Lillian was born at Corsicana, Ellis County, Texas, on 8 May 1910.¹ She married Clarence Winn Tabb on 4 July 1935.² Lillian died on 18 June 1990 at Wesbury Place, Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 80.^3,1 Obituary, HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 19 June 1990:

LILLIAN CHARLES TABB, 80, of Houston, died Monday, June 18, 1990. Mrs. Tabb was the widow of Clarence W. Tabb, a past executive of the Houston Chronicle. Mr. Tabb retired from the Chronicle in 1967 and died Nov 28, 1980. Mrs. Tabb was a member of South Main Baptist Church since 1951 and an active member of Hope Sunday School Class. She was a member of Volunteers for Southwest Memorial Hospital where she worked for 14 years. She was also a member of Chapter #933, O.E.S. and a past president and member of C.B.'s Club of Houston. Mrs. Tabb is survived by her daughter Nancy Tabb Harrell of Houston; a son James Charles Tabb of Philidelphia, Pa. and six grandchildren; Diana, Rebecca and David Harrell of Houston. Susan and Doug Tabb and Jack Carpenter of Philidelphia, Pa. Mrs. Tabb's services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wed., June 20, 1990 in the Settegast-Kopf Chapel with Rev. M.      Oliver was born at Benton, Illinois, on 28 July 1920. He married Iva Ruth Tabb at Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas, on 26 December 1950. Oliver died on 10 December 1985 at Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas, at age 65.¹ His body was interred on 13 December 1985 at Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas.²

     James's occupation: Pharmacist.. James was born at Taylor, Williamson County, Texas, on 13 November 1928. James died on 6 February 1991 at Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, at age 62.¹

     Davis died. Davis was born at Virginia in 1790. He married Rebecca (---?---) at Georgia circa 1820.
